I’m scared of getting officially taken.

Because of one main reason, effort. Somebody eventually stops trying as hard as the other. Someone thinks “Oh, I already have them. They’re mine, so why try as hard?”. I hate that. I’m scared of putting in so much effort, and getting none back.
